Members of the Weatherly School District's Science Club recently had a hands-on class on solar power thanks to Gary MacCready, director of youth programs for the Energy Industry Partnership Program. MacCready spoke to the students about renewable energy and environmental awareness. The first project allowed each student to learn about solar panels and how solar cells work by assembling a solar-powered car. The club held a race for the solar cars during the last meeting of the school year.
