Washington Township supervisors have applied for a composting grant for yard waste. Slatington will be a second applicant so there is more chance of getting it, said Supervisor Josh Friebolin at the Tuesday meeting. Slatington pays 50 percent of the cost.
The Turnpike Commission agreed to grind all material on hand at the municipal building without charge while it is working on the Emerald bridge.Supervisors denied a request for exoneration for per capita tax because there were too many blanks left on the form. It can be requested again with the blanks filled in. The person wanted a full-time military exoneration.An amendment to purchase group unemployment compensation insurance for workers through the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors will be advertised.Township manager Todd Weidman thinks home occupation forms should be filled out to make sure the uses meet the regulations.Saturday will be cleanup day in the township from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
