Pleas entered in Carbon County court

Defendants entered pleas before President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II in the Carbon County court on Thursday.

Aaron Jason Scott Jr., 24, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count each of escape and theft from a motor vehicle.He was arrested by Jim Thorpe police for an incident on April 30 at the county parking lot along Lehigh Street. Police responded to the lot when a woman reported her car was entered and her purse was missing.Police found Scott in the area with the purse. While being questioned, he ran toward the nearby Lehigh River but was later found and arrested.Sentencing was deferred.Dimear M. Caraballo, 19, of Sellersville, Bucks County, pleaded to one count of escape.He was charged by state police at Lehighton with leaving the Youth Services Agency's Camp Adams for juveniles on Jan. 20 without permission. He had been placed in the camp by Bucks County juvenile authorities on drug counts. He was 18 at the time.Nanovic placed him on probation for a year and ordered he render 50 hours of community service.Barry Lee Ohl, 19, of Palmerton, pleaded to one count of unauthorized use of an automobile.He was arrested by Palmerton police for an incident on June 3, 2014, along Lehigh Street. He took a friend's vehicle without permission.Ohl is serving a six-month prison term issued in domestic relations court.Nanovic sentenced him to serve one to 18 months in the county prison, concurrent with the domestic sentence and ordered he make restitution of $65.Christopher Earl Dicinque II, 45, of Clayton, New Jersey, pleaded to one count of theft.He was charged by state police at Lehighton for taking a gym bag from on top of a locker at the Blue Mountain Ski Lodge in Lower Towamensing Township on Feb. 1.Nanovic placed him on probation for six months and ordered he make restitution of $100, which has already been paid, it was noted.Each defendant sentenced must also pay court costs of about $1,000, and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
