Contest winners announced by Summit Hill parade committee

The Summit Hill Memorial Day Parade Committee has announced the winners of the property-decorating and float contests it held in conjunction with the parade held on Monday.

Judging of the two competitions was done by out-of-town visitors.In the property-decorating contest, Hiles Brothers was named the first-place winner. The property owners, Dave and Lisa Hiles, received $100 for the flag display on their property along North Street at the top of the Summit Hill-Lansford Hill.Second place was won by John and Donna Evans, 119 W. White St., while the third-place winners were Alice and Butch Kane, 159 W. White St. The second-place winners received $50 while the third-place winners received $25.In the float competition during the four-division parade, the top prize of $200 went to the Nolan Ritchie Foundation.Second-place winner was auctioneer Ryan Turner, who received $100, while receiving $50 for third place was the float of the Winnie-the-Pooh Pre-School.
