Stun gun used on Slatington woman who resisted arrest

A Lehigh County woman had to be subdued with a stun gun after police said she refused arrest Thursday afternoon.

Jessica Foberg, 37, of Slatington, has been charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.She was arraigned by District Judge Rod Beck and sent to Lehigh County Jail under $20,000 bail.Foberg is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by Detective Timothy Wagner of the Slatington Police Department:Wagner was called to the location to assist the Lehigh County Sheriff with the arrest of Foberg, at which time he was told Foberg had an active warrant from Lehigh County.Before Wagner, Foberg had returned, and officials told her they had a warrant for her arrest. Foberg then began yelling and cursing on the public sidewalk.Deputy Allen McGrath attempted to get Foberg's arm, and she pulled away and pushed him.Deputy Stephen Rowe and McGrath were able to again get a hold of Foberg, who again pushed and pulled away from the deputies, and all three fell to the ground.Officials warned Foberg and repeatedly told her that she was going to be stunned if she continued resisting arrest.McGrath did stun her in the right side, after which the deputies were able to handcuff her.Wagner arrived on the location after Foberg was in custody and secured in the sheriff's vehicle.A witness gave a statement that he heard the deputies yell several times to stop resisting, and also several times that Foberg would be stunned.
