The Carbon County Commissioners approved an agreement designed to help Four Diamonds Inc., owner of the Mountain Laurel Resort in Kidder Township, pay delinquent taxes it owes for 1991, 1992 and 1993.
On a 2-0 vote, commissioners Thomas C. Gerhard and John D. Mogilski OK'd a modified agreement that allowed the firm to make monthly payments on its arrearages to the county's Tax Claim Bureau.At the time, Four Diamonds owed $676,674.07 in delinquent taxes and $31,578.12 in interest and costs.The company sought relief because of what it termed "depressed business conditions" experienced during the winters of 1994-95.
