Shorts and tank tops will be common attire around the region as cities such as Pittsburgh, Baltimore and New York City all experience an uptick in temperatures and humidity. The weather weekend will prompt some people to turn on their fans and air conditioners.A slight rise in temperature will take place on Friday before the warmth and humidity builds throughout the weekend.Sunday appears to be the warmer of the two days with some locations flirting with the 90-degree mark in the afternoon. Those looking to enjoy this warmer weather in the outdoors should do so with an eye to the sky as showers and thunderstorms dot the region each afternoon.Rainfall has been lean over a large part of the Northeast thus far this month. Some rain would help to boost soil moisture and reduce the risk of brush fires. The shower activity should only result in brief interruptions in outdoor activities before the rain ends and people can resume their activities. Some of this weekend warmth is expected to spill into the upcoming week. This warmth is not expected to hold over the region for the entire week with cooler weather arriving across the Northeast by the middle of next week.
