Nesquehoning man sold meth to police 3 times

A Nesquehoning man has been arrested after he sold crystal meth to undercover officers three times in 2014.

According to a criminal complaint filed by Nesquehoning Police Chief Sean Smith, Vito Kevin Focht, 51, of 25 W. Columbus Ave., is charged with three counts each of criminal use of communication facility, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and use/possession of drug paraphernalia; and six counts of manufacture, delivery or possession with the intent to deliver controlled substances.According to the affidavit, Nesquehoning police had been building a case against Focht since early 2014.During the week of March 1, 2014, police used an informant to meet with Focht on the 200 block of West Catawissa Street in Nesquehoning to make a controlled buy.The informant made contact with Focht by phone and set up the meeting. During the conversation, Focht agreed to sell a half gram of crystal methamphetamine for $100.The buy was set up and the informant purchased the narcotic using money from the Carbon County District Attorney's prerecorded fund.During the buy at the aforementioned location, three officers witnessed the purchase. The substance was then turned over to police and placed into evidence.Testing done on the crystallike matter in the bag from the purchase confirmed that the substance was crystal meth.During the week of April 6, 2014, a second informant contacted Focht to set up a buy on the unit block of West Columbus Avenue in the borough.Again, Focht agreed to sell a half gram of crystal meth for $100.The meeting was set up and completed as before, with several officers witnessing the buy. The narcotic was turned over, tested and placed into evidence.In a third buy during the week of April 20, 2014, a third informant set up and purchased a half gram of crystal meth from Focht on the unit block of West Columbus Avenue.The purchase was completed and the buy was again confirmed to be crystal meth.Focht was arrested Tuesday and arraigned before District Judge Casimir Kosciolek. Bail was set at $10,000, 10 percent. Focht is out on bail.
