Probation, parole revocation hearings held by county court

Probation and parole revocation hearings were held by county judges on petitions filed by the adult probation office against defendants who violated the terms of their release.

Those who had hearings included:Jennifer Gongora, 29, of Kunkletown, had her parole revoked on a charge of endangering the welfare of children on petition of probation officer Kimberly Cooper for violating conditions by being arrested by Easton police on a drug charge, testing positive for opiates and cocaine, which violated the zero-tolerance provision.Judge Steven R. Serfass resentenced her to serve one day less 12 to one day less 24 months in the county prison, which is effective Oct. 22, 2014.Steven Wright, 23, of Cherryville, had his parole revoked on a charge of criminal conspiracy on petition of Cooper for violating conditions by not residing at his reported residence, his whereabouts were unknown, tested positive for amphetamine and marijuana, and failed to obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation.Serfass resentenced him to serve 90 days in the county prison, with the effective date Dec. 17, 2014.Nicole Park, 34, of Palmerton, had her probation revoked on a charge of retail theft on petition of Cooper for violating conditions by failing to report as directed, failing to submit to a urine screen and testing positive for opiates and amphetamine.Judge Joseph J. Matika resentenced her to serve 143 days to 12 months in prison with credit for 143 days already served and paroled her.Lorene Rice, 38, of Palmerton, had her parole revoked on a charge of retail theft on petition of Cooper for violating conditions by testing positive for marijuana and failing to obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation.Serfass resentenced her to serve 90 days in the county prison effective Jan. 9.Michael Raposo Jr., 25, of Lansford, had his probation revoked on a retail theft charge on petition of probation officer Clifford Eckhart for violating conditions by failing to report to the probation office as directed, repeatedly testing positive for a controlled substance, failing to attend and complete drug and alcohol counseling, and failing to complete 50 hours of community service.Matika resentenced him to serve 45 to 90 days in the county prison, with credit for 34, and his release date from prison set for April 28.Christopher Miller, 26, of Lansford, had his parole revoked on a retail theft charge on petition of Eckhart for violating conditions by repeatedly testing positive for a controlled substanceMatika resentenced him to serve 45 to 90 days in the county prison with credit for 22 days. His release date from prison was set for May 10.Dana McFadden, 23, of Summit Hill, had his probation revoked on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia on petition of Eckhart for violating conditions by admitting using controlled substances, testing positive for controlled substances which violated the zero-tolerance provision.Matika resentenced him to serve three to 12 months in the county prison with credit for 29 days.ARD revokedThe following defendants were revoked from the Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program for violating conditions.Charisma Butchko, 30, of Lansford, was revoked from the program on a charge of driving under the influence on petition of Eckhart for violating conditions by failing to pay her court costs and failing to complete drug and alcohol treatment.Amy Tessitore, 28, of Emerald, was revoked on a charge of hindering apprehension on petition of Cooper for violating conditions by testing positive for opiates, not paying court costs, and failing to perform 25 hours of community service.Both had their cases returned to the pretrial list.Brenda Stevens, 24, of Palmerton, was revoked on a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana, on petition of Cooper for violating conditions by not completing 20 hours of community service. The revocation is effective March 26. If she completes the community service hours by that date the order will be vacated.Bail revokedSamuel Miletto, 45, of Lansford, had his bail revoked for violating the terms of his pretrial services program on petition of Eckhart for violating conditions by failing to report to the adult probation office as directed, testing positive for a controlled substance and failing to submit to scheduled drug screens.Bail was reset at $75,000, 10 percent.
