DeMelfi seeks nod for Nesquehoning council seat

David DeMelfi of Nesquehoning is seeking the Democratic nomination for Nesquehoning Borough Council in the May 19 primary.

A 35-year resident of Nesquehoning, DeMelfi is married to Renee DeMelfi and has four daughters.He is a graduate of Hazleton High School and has degrees in business management and business administration.DeMelfi is currently on the board of directors of Lake Hauto Club, a private residential development in Nesquehoning.DeMelfi has been involved with construction all his life.He has been the maintenance supervisor for the Hazleton Area School District for the past 33 years. He also served for many years as Teamsters president out of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton locals.If elected, he will work with current council and the mayor to control spending, show accountability and do what is best for the taxpayers.DeMelfi believes his experience in business, construction, budgets, administration and business contract dealings and negotiations can benefit the Nesquehoning borough significantly.
