Passenger charged with lying to police

A Saylorsburg man has been charged with making a false report to authorities after providing the wrong identification for a driver pulled over in January by Mahoning Township police.

Dylan Rahmann, 24, was the passenger in a vehicle stopped by police on Jan. 28 as it exited the Carbon Plaza Mall into the opposing lane of traffic on Route 443.Dylan identified the driver as his sister, Amber Lee Rahmann, when in reality it was Jacqueline Homschek, 23, of Kunkletown.Homschek had an active arrest warrant from New Jersey.Officers found two syringes concealed inside her purse before she was placed in Carbon County Prison on the outstanding warrant.During an admissions search inside the prison, packets of suspected heroin were found in her bra, along with two syringes, one of which was concealed inside her shoe.Homschek was charged with making a false identification to law enforcement, possession of drug paraphernalia, careless driving, and several other traffic violations.A preliminary hearing in February was continued and is pending a new date.A preliminary hearing for Rahmann is scheduled for April 8.
