A Slatington man has been arrested for stealing from vehicles in the borough.

Borough Police Chief David Rachman said Robert Allison Jr., 20, has been arrested in connection with several vehicle thefts.Rachman said that at 6:10 a.m. March 5, borough police spotted Allison in a parking lot at Center and Main streets.As they were checking the area, police received a tip that said Allison was at Diamond and Center streets, at which time he was stopped by Walnutport Police and arrested.Rachman said Allison stole from eight unlocked vehicles.He said anyone whose car has been broken into is urged to contact officer Dorward at 610-767-1848.
