Schuylkill County commissioners on Wednesday approved the purchase of $25,934 worth of radio equipment for the Adult Probation Department.

The mobile radio equipment will be purchased through a state contract with Motorola Solutions.The purchase includes two Motorola APX 6500 vhf high power mobile two way radios and two Motorola APX 6000 vhf high power portable two-way radios.In a related matter, commissioners also approved a new contract with Psychological Associates of Schuylkill County for fees for psychosexual assessments and risk assessments/group sessions/polygraph services for defendants.In other business, commissioners granted a request by Human Services Director Sharon Love to contract with the Pottsville Parking Authority for six additional parking spaces at the Arch Street lot at a rate of $30 per space per month.The extra spaces are needed for Children and Youth Services agency employees, she said.In personnel actions, commissioners approved the retirements of corrections officer Ruth Machay of Tuscarora, court administration law librarian D. Susan Kost of Norwegian Township, and adult probation officer Scott Siket of Foster Township.The county salary board approved the creation of the position of judicial attendant, effective March 16.
