Palmerton library releases new website

The Palmerton Area Library, 402 Delaware Ave., Palmerton, has a new website that features 10 online databases that are free to all library patrons.

The website can be accessed at

www.palmertonarealibrary.com. If the library's old website appears, just click on the refresh arrow in the address bar.The new website has drop-down menus for information on library services, a calendar of library events, contact information for the local school district and local governments and municipalities, youth services including The Teen Group and the Homework Helpers program, and information on new books, DVDs and books on CD which are available at the library.There is a donate button if you would like to donate to the library through PayPal.On the right you will see new information and pictures featured on the library Facebook page.Patrons can access their library account, place holds on items, renew items and check out the library catalog to see what is available.Patrons may click on icons to access the new online databases. All but one are available for home use.Databases are free, but will ask for a valid, up-to-date library card number. If you would like to take advantage of these services and do not have a library card, stop in and sign up. Library cards are free. Children must be at least 7 years old to get a card.The Palmerton Area Library is open: Mondays and Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.Call the library at 610-826-3424 if you would like more information about any of these databases or anything on the new website.
