Slopeside Pub & Grill hosts its grand opening

It was an evening filled with celebration, praise and fire.

Blue Mountain hosted a not-so-traditional ribbon cutting ceremony for Slopeside Pub & Grill recently.The event brought more than a hundred community supporters, project suppliers, corporate sponsors, employees and other entities together to celebrate the culmination of hard work and perseverance for the restaurant. The ceremony marked the addition of the first year-round dining experience for Blue Mountain.The restaurant began as a treat in the warmer months and will now be available to enjoy during all four seasons.The cabin-style restaurant has earth-tone colors and textures of natural stone and wood, two grand fireplaces.The opening included offerings from the Franklin Hill Vineyards and dancers from the Burning Hearts Fire and Light Theater.Barb Green, president of Blue Mountain, discussed the resort's growth. Executive sous chef Tommy George and restaurant manager Karl Knepper cut the ceremonial ribbon that sparked a spectacular firework display that surrounded the outdoor deck of the restaurant."I feel proud to have invested my time and heart into this incredible project that has launched Blue Mountain's efforts in becoming a year-round destination. My team and I look forward to showcasing each season with our menu and entertainment," Karl Knepper said.Slopeside Pub & Grill was a quick six month multimillion dollar construction project managed by Serfass Construction Company. The opening of the 10,000-square-foot restaurant includes 450 additional seating, two grand fireplaces, outdoor deck, and full bar. Built 1,200 feet above sea level, Slopeside Pub & Grill will serve hearty, chef-driven cuisine, alongside an award-winning wine, beer and spirit list. Already a favorite among locals and those not so local, Slopeside is winning rave reviews with skiers, boarders and spectators.
