Amy Burns, 33, of 9 E. Abbott St., was also charged with simple assault, resisting arrest and harassment after the incident at 14 W. Patterson St.According to an affidavit of probable cause filed by officer Shawn Nunemacher, here's what happened:At 7:30 p.m., Nunemacher received a complaint about a woman trying to start a fight at 14 W. Patterson. As he approached the house, he could hear shouting from inside. The door was open, and as he entered, he saw Burns charging at a woman. A third woman, Nicole Oplinger, was holding Burns back.Nunemacher grabbed Burns by the arm and tried to handcuff her. He told her to stop resisting and put her hands behind her back, but she refused. He pushed her onto a couch and got one hand cuffed, and she eventually complied.Nunemacher arrested her and put her into his cruiser. He then spoke with Dave Oplinger, who said Burns came to see Nicole Oplinger, and began harassing the victim about her daughter being molested. Dave Oplinger said he told Burns about 10 times to leave. He said Burns grabbed the woman by the hair and hit her in the head, making her fall down. Then Burns got on top of her and started hitting her.Nunemacher spoke with the victim, who told him that Burns told her that her (the victim)'s daughter had been molested and that she needed to be a better parent. The woman said she was walking away from Burns when she was attacked. Nunemacher saw a fresh scratch on her neck and that her knee was bleeding.Nicole Oplinger told him she had to pull Burns off the victim before police arrived. As Burns was being preliminarily arraigned before on-call District Judge Joseph Homanko of Weatherly, she freed herself from the handcuffs and tried to leave the courtroom. As Nunemacher tried to stop her, she struggled, saying "I am not going to jail."Burns hit him in the face with her arm before being subdued.Burns was arraigned before District Judge Casimir Kosciolek of Lansford and jailed under $25,000 cash bail.
