Kenny Rogers, The Lettermen have concert dates at the Peak

Several major performers are on the concert schedule for the coming months at Penn's Peak in Jim Thorpe.

Recently announced were:• Rockin' the Holidays with Felix Cavaliere's Rascals on Dec. 14.• Pink Floyd Experience on Feb. 28.• The Lettermen on May 29.If you're making New Year's Eve plans, consider the Get the Led Out, which will be performing both Dec. 30 and 31. Get the Led Out is a Led Zepellin tribute band.Dark Star Orchestra is one of the most frequent performers at Penn's Peak, coming usually at least once a year. Generally that date is Thanksgiving Eve.Celebrating their 17th anniversary on this tour, Dark Star Orchestra will be at the venue on Nov. 24.Dark Star reached their biggest milestone yet earlier this year: surpassing the Grateful Dead in number of shows played 2,318 in almost half the time of the Dead's 30 years of playing together.The band has played alongside every living member of the original Grateful Dead as well as their sound man of nearly three decades.Kenny Rogers is coming to the Peak with his Christmas show on Dec. 20.Rogers will be performing holiday favorites and his classic hits when his 33rd Christmas tour Christmas & Hits Through The Years with Special Guest Linda Davis arrives at the venue. The legendary Rogers will be joined by Grammy Award winner Linda Davis.This will be one of the final dates of this extraordinary tour.Just last month, Rogers, along with his longtime friend Dolly Parton, received their fifth joint nomination as a duo for this year's CMA Awards. The title track duet from Rogers' new album, "You Can't Make Old Friends," which is also featured on Parton's latest release, Blue Smoke, earned the collaborators a nomination in the Musical Event of the Year category. Rogers and Parton also received a Grammy Award nomination earlier this year.Rogers generates a fun, family-friendly atmosphere annually with his Christmas & Hits shows, which have become a holiday tradition.His heartwarming performances of Christmas-time favorites such as "White Christmas," "O Holy Night," "The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire)" and originals such as "Mary, Did You Know" are accented with the addition of a local choir and children in each tour city.Rogers also performs his big hits such as "Lady," "The Gambler," "Islands In The Stream," "Lucille," "Ruby, Don't Take Your Love To Town, "She Believes In Me," and "Daytime Friends," making this show a special treat.Next up on the Penn's Peak schedule is Back to the Garden 1969 on Friday night, which could easily be dubbed "Woodstock revisited."Back to the Garden 1969 is a group of seasoned players who have toured, performed and recorded nationally. The musicians all are multi-instrumentalists, as well as unique lead vocalists. Their common bond is a love for the music of the Woodstock era, and they formed this band for the sheer enjoyment of playing these songs. Kenny Rogers brings his Christmas show with Linda Davis to Penn's Peak on Dec. 20. He'll also do some of his all-time great hits like "Lucille" and "Ruby, Don't Take Your Love To Town."
