May 23, 1978 Bob Roman has a good day on the mound and at the plate to lead Panther Valley to an 8-0 Schuylkill League win over Mahanoy Area. Roman pitches a one-hitter and strikes out eight batters. He aids his own cause by collecting three hits, one a triple, and scoring two runs. The Panthers also receive two-run doubles from both Joe Flyzik and Bill Mogilski while Dave Bonner adds an RBI double. Paul Yurick and Ed Kusko add RBI singles with Ed Shubeck chipping in with a double and run scored.
