A new chapter in the continuing dispute between Carbon County Judge John P. Lavelle and the county commissioners over the establishment of salaries for new court employees was written Tuesday morning in Jim Thorpe, when the salary board met for the first time since last week's Supreme Court decision.

Both sides interpreted last week's top court decision differently and Tuesday's salary board votes did little to settle the issue.
