Middle school will present 'Fame Jr.'

Pleasant Valley Middle School will present the musical "Fame Jr." this weekend with a special performance for senior citizens at 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Then there will be performances at 7 p.m. Friday, and 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday. The cost is adults $5, and students $3.Set at the celebrated High School for the Performing Arts on 46th Street, "Fame Jr." is the bittersweet but inspiring story of a diverse group of students who commit to four years of grueling artistic and academic work.With candor, humor and insight, the show explores the issues that confront many young people today.With its topical subject manner, multiethnic cast of actors, singers, dancers and high-energy, contemporary pop score (which includes the hit title song), "Fame Jr." is an ideal musical for young performers.
