Lansford will have three inductees

The annual Carbon County Hall of Fame banquet will be held on Sunday, May 25 at Memorial Hall in Jim Thorpe.

Ellen scored her 1000th point in January of 1992 and finished as the second all-time leading scorer with 1,297 points, averaging 13.2 points per game. She also had 350 steals, 397 assists, 406 rebounds, 443 two-point field goals and 43 three-point field goals in her high school career, which spanned 98 games. Ellen was also a member of the 400-meter relay squad on the track team and also played softball for the Lady Panthers. Ellen graduated from Panther Valley in 1992, ranking fourth in a class of 109.Ellen was a four-year member of the Muhlenberg College basketball team. Career highlights include 170 assists, 140 steals and 602 career points. While playing for Muhlenberg, the Lady Mules reached the MAC playoffs in the Centennial League. Ellen graduated from Muhlenberg with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1996.In 1996, Ellen and twin sister Eileen were the recepients of the ESPN Donna de Verona Spirit of Sport Award given to a female athlete who demonstrates ethical conduct, serves as a role model, manifests a never-give-up attitude and possesses strong leadership skills. Donna de Verona, an Olympic gold medalist, was a consultant on Title IX legislation, which became law in 1972 and prohibits sex discrimination in sports.Also in 1996, the Allentown Morning Call featured Ellen and Eileen in an article on the challenges encountered with handling Type I Diabetes in college athletics.After graduating from Muhlenberg, Ellen earned her Master's Degree in Biology from East Stroudsburg University.Ellen currently holds a position as a scientitst in the pharmaceutical technology group responsible for the development of process/product design for new and existing products at Sanofi-Pasteur.She currently resides in Effort, PA, with her husband, Jonathan Haines and their son, Joshua.Eileen Ogozalek LaukaitisA standout member of the Panther Valley's basketball team, Eileen completed her high school career as the second Lady Panther to break 1,000 points, reaching the plateau in December of 1991. Eileen became the all-time leading scorer at Panther Valley by amassing 1,319 points, breaking the previous mark of 1,280, which was set in 1977. Eileen's career stats while at Panther Valley read as follows: 334 steals, 356 assists, 371 rebounds, 401 two-point field goals, 82 three-point field goals, good for an average of 13.5 points per game. Eileen was also a member of the 400 meter relay squad on the track and field team and played softball while at Panther Valley. Eileen graduated from PV as valedictorian in 1992.Eileen was a member of the Muhlenberg basketball team for four years, playing guard. She finished her career with 154 assists, 152 steals and 740 points. While playing at Muhlenberg, she helped the Lady Mules to the MAC playoffs in the Centennial League. Eileen graduated from Muhlenberg with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1996.In 1996, Eileen and twin sister Ellen were the recepients of the ESPN Donna de Verona Spirit of Sport Award given to a female athlete who demonstrates ethical conduct, serves as a role model, manifests a never-give-up attitude and possesses strong leadership skills. Donna de Verona, an Olympic gold medalist, was a consultant on Title IX legislation, which became law in 1972 and prohibits sex discrimination in sports.Also in 1996, the Allentown Morning Call featured Ellen and Eileen in an article on the challenges encountered with handling Type I Diabetes in college athletics.Upon graduating from Muhlenberg, Eileen earned her Master's Degree in Biology from East Stroudsburg University.Eileen currently holds a position as a senior lab analyst in the Global Immunology Department at Sanofi-Pasteur performing quality control and other laboratory tests on various pharmaceutical and research and development products.She currently resides in Effort, PA, with her husband, Williams Laukaitis and their son, Robert James.Thomas RosahacBorn and raised in the area, Rosahac had several outstanding achievements while at Panther Valley.In baseball, he was a two-year starter and maintained a .400 batting average. He was also a two-year starter in basketball and tallied 814 career points, which puts him 14th on the school's all-time scoring list. As a team captain during his senior year, Rosahac led the TIMES NEWS area in scoring, averaging 18.6 points per game while leading his team to the District 11 championship game.In the spring of 1989, which was his junior year, Rosahac did what had never been done in the 25-year history of Panther Valley - he became a four sport athlete by participating in both baseball and track during the same season.One afternoon at Panther Valley, the Panthers were involved in a track meet and baseball game against rival Marian.Rosahac pitched the first two innings of the baseball game, then changed into his track uniform and broke the school record in the 400-meter event by running a time of 51.2 seconds, a record that still stands today.Both the baseball and track teams went on to beat Marian that day.Rosahac finished second at the District 11 track meet in the 400 in both his junior and senior seasons. Rosahac never lost a 400-meter event in a dual meet, compiling an 8-0 record over a two-year period.While certainly accomplished on the track and on the diamond, Rosahac's biggest achievements came on the football field, where he was a two-year starter on offense and defense.Rosahac helped his team win back-to-back District 11 championships in his sophomore and junior seasons.As a team captain his senior year, he led the team to an 11-2 record and an Anthracite League championship. His team also earned an Eastern Conference playoff berth for the first time in school history.Rosahac finished his senior season with 73 receptions and 1,218 receiving yards, both of which are still single season records at Panther Valley.Rosahac was selected TIMES NEWS area First Team wide receiver and defensive back, First Team wide receiver and defensive back for the Pottsville Republican Herald, and First Team All-State at wide receiver. Rosahac played collegiately at Brown University.Rosahac has been married for 17 years to Marie (Michalik) Rosahac, formerly of Shenandoah. He remains active in athletics and is currently the president of the Jim Thorpe Olympian Booster Club, which sponsors youth sports programs for children in the Jim Thorpe area from K-6th grades. He has also been a little league coach for 10 years, youth football coach for nine years and youth basketball coach for 18 years.Last year, Rosahac also started his career as a PIAA sports official for football, basketball and softball.
