Lehighton District seeks public input

Lehighton Area School District is asking the community for its input regarding potential district-wide building projects by completing a brief "Building Project/Design" survey online.

"Once the survey is complete and all the data is collected, we will share the survey results with the community," said Superintendent Jonathan J. Cleaver. "This information will be used by the school board as a reference as we move forward with our building project process."The 10-question survey will be available at

www.Lehighton.org until Friday, March 28.Earlier this week, the school district sent an email about the survey to all staff members and to all parents and guardians whose email addresses are listed in the student database. A districtwide phone call then went out to approximately 5,000 contacts, making them aware of the survey and asking them to complete it.In addition to the survey, Cleaver is also encouraging the community to read the document entitled "Building Updates and Clarifications" on the website. It addresses 23 separate questions and misconceptions about potential districtwide building projects."The district is trying to make every 'good faith effort' to notify the entire Lehighton community of the information posted on our website and encouraging them to complete the survey," Cleaver said. The Lehighton Area School Board will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the administration building. The school board is not expected to make a final decision at this meeting about whether to move forward with renovations at the elementary schools or to build an elementary center.
