Birds are chirping merrily at dawn; the temperature in Tamaqua climbed into the 50s, robins have returned to the area and wild geese have been spotted flying north.

The first day of spring is arriving in fine style today sunny in the early morning and getting warmer by the hour.Spring officially arrived at 8:22 a.m. today and the wild geese weren't far behind.
