State police at Fern Ridge are investigating a theft incident in Monroe County.

Maynard Warren Sterner, 642 Fairgrounds Rd., Gilbert, Chestnuthill Township, reported someone pried open the door on his safe and removed the contents. Among the items taken was about 50 packs of year proof coins and $600 in cash. Troopers said there was no signs of forced entry to the home. The incident occurred sometime between Aug. 1, 2013, and Wednesday, Feb. 12.Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at 570-646-2271.
