A Carbon County man was sentenced to a state prison term Friday on a charge of endangering the welfare of a child his daughter.

Michael Taschler, 27, of Lehighton, was sentenced by Judge Steven R. Serfass to serve a total of 12 to 36 months in prison on the charge. He was also sentenced in other cases he previously pleaded guilty to including charges of criminal trespass, theft, and related counts.The endangering charge stemmed from an incident in Lehighton on June 30, 2012, following an incident in the area of 320 N. First St. Borough police made a vehicle stop of Taschler at that location. Police said he was injecting heroin while his daughter was present.The trespass count stemmed from an incident on Aug. 4, 2013, at the residence of Zachary Hoffman, of 130 Jamestown St. The theft count was for an incident on Aug. 3, 2013, in which he took $600 from Danny Edgar of Lehighton.In addition to the jail term, Serfass ordered Taschler to supply a DNA sample, get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment, render a total of 100 hours of community service when released on parole, pay court costs, which average about $1,000, and make total restitution of $500.Taschler was given credit for 160 days spent in jail to date on the charges.
