McAdoo Police have cited a homeless man following an incident on Dec. 31.

Officer William Curilla was gassing up the police cruiser at Fegley's Mini Mart, at 4 a.m., when he was approached by a male who claimed to have been hit in the head, several times, with beer bottles. The male, identified as James Rodriguez, said the incident happened at a home on Kennedy Drive, near Garfield Street.

Police said Rodriguez was unable to stand, had slurred speech and was unable to remember anything other than he had been at "Charlie's and this house in McAdoo." He told the officer he was homeless, with only a backpack and a pillow case filled with clothes.

The officer called for an ambulance, which transported Rodriguez to Hazleton General Hospital, where he was checked for possible injuries.

Curilla cited him for public drunkenness.
