State Rep. Julie Harhart (R-Lehigh/Northampton) has challenged AARP to open a Tax-Aide site at the Vigilant Fire Company in Slatington and volunteers are needed.

Are you interested in supporting a rewarding activity that will make a significant contribution to your community? Are you interested in assisting senior citizens and low income taxpayers prepare their federal and state returns?Tax-Aide, a partnership between the AARP Foundation and the Internal Revenue Service, provides free federal, state and local tax counseling and preparation to middle and low-income taxpayers of all ages, with special attention to individuals age 60 and over.The AARP Tax-Aide program is seeking volunteers to participate in this program as certified counselors and greeters. AARP has a training program that prepares volunteers for this task.
