Two Barnesville men among 17 to enter guilty pleas

Two Barnesville men were among 17 who entered guilty pleas in Schuylkill County court to criminal charges and were sentenced by Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin as follows:

Timothy Wayne Collins, 23, Forest Avenue, Barnesville, unlawful contact with minor through computer on Facebook, sentenced to serve six to 23 months in the county prison, pay $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account, must be evaluated by the state's Sexual Offenders Assessment Board and shall have no contact with the victim. Collins was cited by Trooper Edward Lizewski.Eric Michael Christopher, 20, of 108 Hazle St., Barnesville, possession of a controlled substance when stopped in Mahanoy City, sentenced to serve 12 months on probation, pay $100 to Substance Abuse Education fund, and $50 to CJEA. He was cited by Patrolman Jonathan McHugh.Marquis Lewis Anderson, 21, Philadelphia, racing on highways, fined $200; failing to obey traffic signal, fined $100, and careless driving, fined $50 plus $150 costs. He was cited by Patrolman Jason A. Klouser, Penn State Police on Schuylkill Campus, North Manheim Township.Toni Lynn Cook, 35, Pottsville, driving under the influence of alcohol, placed in county's new prerelease probation program to serve under house arrest on electronic monitoring for six to 23 months, fined $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $300 to Catastrophe fund, $50 to CJEA, $79.25 to Health Network Lab, attend alcohol highway safety school, receive outpatient counseling, perform 40 hours community service, and driver's license suspended 12 months. On a summary charges of disregarding a traffic lane was fined $25, and failure to wear seat belt fined $10 plus $100 costs. Cook was cited by Trooper John B. Carr when stopped on SR61 in North Manheim Township.James Michael Felty, 21, Cressona, simple assault, placed on probation 18 months, and pay $50 to CJEA. Charges of rape, robbery, indecent assault, and theft were nolprossed. Felty was cited by Trooper Bernard. Spece.James Joseph Harris, 27, Mahanoy City, theft of tuxedo rented from Strictly Formals Store, Pottsville, placed on probation 12 months, pay $50 to CJEA, make restitution of $300 to victim, and $50 to district attorney's office for bench warrant fee. Harris was cited by Patrolman Joseph H. Murton.Stephen Francis Oravitz, 59, Ringtown, who operates a funeral parlor in Shenandoah, pleaded guilty to forgery of beneficiary form furnished by insurance company, placed on probation six months, pay $50 to CJEA, and perform 100 hours of community service. He was cited by state Attorney General's office.Thomas John Petrousky, 42, Ashland, DUI of drugs, sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in the county prison with the sentence to begin Friday, Nov. 1, at noon, fined $1,000, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $50 to CJEA, $460 to SMC, attend safety school, complete outpatient treatment, perform 10 hours community service. and driver's license suspended 12 months. He was cited by Butler Township Lt. Daniel Holderman, when stopped in Lavelle.James Reber, 63, Schuylkill Haven, harassment of a resident in the high rise apartments, placed on probation 12 months, and pay $50 to CJEA. Reber was cited by Schuylkill Haven Patrolman Warren G. Firing.Kevin Lamont Reshard, 32, Pottsville, statutory sexual assault, sentenced to serve four to eight years in a state correctional facility with credit for serving 214 days in the county prison, pay $50 to CJEA and make restitution of $3,275 to state police regional lab and two payments to Bethlehem Regional Lab of $176 and $1,378.On a charge of corruption of a minor received a concurrent sentence of two to four years, resisting arrest, concurrent one to two years, giving a false identification, three to 12 months concurrent, and possession of a controlled substance, six to 12 months concurrent and pay $100 to SAE fund. Reshard was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Michael P. Stank.Each defendant sentenced must pay additional court costs and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
