A man was found dead early Monday morning along Route 209 in the construction area of the Mansion House Hill.
At 6:54 a.m., the Carbon County Coroner’s office was requested to respond to “The Mansion House” hill for a crash involving a bicycle.
A man was located at the scene and was pronounced dead at 7:30 a.m.
An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday to determine the cause and manner of death. The examination will be conducted by Forensic Pathology Associates at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest.
At this time, the identity is unknown.
The Carbon County Coroner’s Office, in conjunction with the Mahoning Township Police Department, and The Carbon County District Attorney’s Office, is actively investigating this incident.
The Carbon County Coroner’s Office is requesting assistance from the public regarding this recent incident.
Anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or anyone who knows of an individual who routinely travels that stretch of Route 209 by bicycle, is asked to contact the Carbon County Coroner’s Office at 570-732-0054.
