Free concert held at Lewistown Tabernacle

The Jacobs Brothers Band performed for a well-attended crowd last night at the Lewistown Tabernacle in Walker Township.

The concert was an event prelude to the 100th anniversary celebration of the tabernacle, which includes free music and other free activities starting today and ending on Labor Day.Today's event includes Missionary Campout Night with Austin Sullivan.Saturday will feature music and message by Reverends Jeff and Jeanie Shelburne at 7 p.m.On Sunday, members and visitors are invited to attend the 100th anniversary celebration and dedication service for improvements of the tabernacle grounds. The event starts at 10:25 a.m., followed by an evening dedication service at 6 p.m.Evangelist Rev. George Holley will provide his message every day at 7 p.m. from Aug. 26 to Aug. 30.The Shelburnes will also present their music and message everyday from Aug. 26 to Aug. 31 at 7 p.m. and Sept. 1 at 10:25 a.m. at the tabernacle, to include song and messages at 7 p.m. Monday to Friday.In addition, visitors can attend free concerts and messages from the Wehry family at 2:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Sept. 1.Labor Day event will include a testimony and praise services at 10:25 a.m. and 6 p.m.The tabernacle is located at 614 Valley Road in Tamaqua.
