At the recent trial of Keith Allen Reber, who is awaiting sentence after being found guilty by a jury for causing the death of man tied to a tree, Daniel William Dull, 26, of 115 Station Road, Orwigsburg, testified he was only a spectator.

Tuesday he entered a guilty plea Tuesday in Schuylkill County court in stead of going to trial on the same charges.He was sentenced by Judge Charles M. Miller, who also presided over Reber's trial, to serve three to six years in a state correctional facility.This was the plea bargaining agreement offered by District Attorney Karen Byrnes Noon for his testimony against Reber. After serving the prison term he will have to serve an additional four years probation. He pleaded to involuntary manslaughter.Reber's sentencing is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 1.Dull testified at Reber's trial that he only was a spectator and all that happened was caused by Reber.At the trial, it was testified that the two men took Bryan Robert Smith, 26, of Schuylkill Haven, to a wooded area in South Manheim Township where Smith was tied to a tree and left there for 24 hours. He was found dead by Reber.Dull claimed he went along because he thought they were taking Smith home from Reber's girlfriend's residence, which Smith was reported to have trashed.At the trial Reber testified in his own defense that he only wanted to teach Smith a lesson and never intended to kill him. Smith's main cause of death was from drugs but Reber's action was ruled to be a contributor to Smith's death.Before imposing the sentence Miller told Dull, "It was your duty to stand up and do the right thing." Dull admitted he had watched the whole proceeding and left with Reber after tying Smith to the tree.
