The Schuylkill County Fair will accept fair queen applications through July 7.

The contest is open to girls ages 7-20. Contestants must submit information by July 7 along with a typed 1 1/2 page letter on why they would like to be fair royalty; two wallet-sized photos for publishing in local newspapers; a $30 check made payable to the fair association; and an information and release form found at

On Friday, July 26 at Fairlane Village Mall there will be a Schuylkill County Fair mini carnival from 6-8 p.m. Contestants will promote the royalty program by running fun activity stations for children.Contestants will also raffle off baskets to help raise money for the contest.On Saturday, July 27 there will be a Royalty Bash. This is a relaxing day for the girls to spend time together and get to know one another.Sunday, July 28 is the judges' reception at the Ag Museum on the fair grounds, where contestants girls are interviewed by the judging panel.Monday, July 29 is coronation day. Contestants will give an impromptu onstage speech at the fairgrounds. Later that day, the court is crowned.
