Senior Games scores: Bowling

Monday kicked off a fresh round of fierce competition for Carbon County Senior Games athletes as they bowled for the gold. The games began May 7, and wrap up Thursday.

The bowling tournaments took place Monday morning at Fritz Lanes and Cypress Lanes, both in Lehighton.The South Team, composed of senior citizens from Lehighton and Palmerton, kept the lead over the North Team, composed of Panther Valley, Jim Thorpe/Penn Kidder, and Weatherly.At the close of bowling, the top total scorer thus far was Lehighton, with 364 points, followed by Jim Thorpe with 176, then Panther Valley with 110, Palmerton with 85, and Weatherly with 6.The individual results for the bowling tournament were:Men 60-64: James Ketchledge, Lehighton, gold; Wayne Leap, Lehighton, silver; and Terry Smith, Lehighton, bronze.Men 65-69: Dennis Getz, Lehighton, gold; Lee Getz, Lehighton, silver; and Richard Walck, Palmerton, bronze.Men 70-74: Maurice Infante, Panther Valley, gold; Nick Totani, Panther Valley, silver; and Dave Woodman, Jim Thorpe, bronze.Men 75-79: Roy Miller, Lehighton, gold; Lenny Bishop, Lehighton, silver; and John Power, Jim Thorpe, bronze.Men 80-84: Charlie Messina, Lehighton, gold; Pete Daniels, Lehighton, silver; and Joe Van Uiter, Jim Thorpe, bronze.Men 85+: Angelo Cannarella, Palmerton, gold; Tom Wehr, Lehighton, silver.
