St. Paul's at a glanceSt. Paul's Lutheran Church, 123 W. White St., Summit Hill announces the following schedule:Palm Sunday worship service with Holy Communion will be held at 10:30 a.m. with Vicar Ben Seibert presiding.A confirmation class will be held on Tuesday, March 26 at 7:30 p.m.Maundy Thursday worship with Holy Communion will be held at 8 p.m. on March 28.Good Friday worship will begin at noon.On Saturday, March 30 an Easter vigil will be held at 6:30 p.m.Easter worship service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on March 31 with Vicar Ben Siebert presiding. Visitors are always welcome.The Sunday school Easter egg hunt will be held at 9 a.m. on March 31 prior to worship.CoaldaleEaster egg huntThe Coaldale Rod & Gun Club will hold it's annual free Easter egg hunt on Saturday, March 30 for children up to and including age 10.Registration is free and begins at noon with the hunt taking place at 1 p.m. The Easter Bunny will arrive by fire truck.For more information call (570) 645-9236.NesquehoningVFW Ladies AuxiliaryThe regular monthly meeting of the Ladies Auxiliary to Nesquehoning Memorial VFW Post 8008 was held March 12 with President Amanda Breiner presiding. Department President Sandra Brenner made her official visit to the district and was honored with a Parade of Presidents.A blood mobile was held at the post March 13 and a donation was made to the VFW Department Arthritis Fund.The District 20 Voice of Democracy banquet will be held Saturday, April 20 at Tobyhanna.The annual Loyalty Day program will be held Wednesday, May 1 beginning at 6 p.m. The Voice of Democracy awards will also be presented to the student orators.Letters for the Memorial Day Parade participants will be sent out shortly. Any person or group who does not receive a letter and would like to participate in the parade should contact the Post Home.Children and grandchildren of all members may sign up for the Buddy Poppy King and Queen at the Post Home. Children between the ages of 4-12 are eligible.Members are encouraged to contact their legislators regarding the new medal that will be awarded to non-battlefield veterans that will outrank many other medals including the purple heart.Year end reports are due by April 5.Anyone who has not yet paid their annual membership dues are asked to remit payment.The next meeting will be held Tuesday, April 9 at 6:30 p.m. at the Post Home. Nomination and election of officers for 2013-2014 will be held at this meeting and all members are urged to attend and take an office or committee to keep the auxiliary a functioning unit.
