A Tamaqua man was one of two who was found guilty by a jury last February of criminal charges and were sentenced in Schuylkill County court to serve time in state prison facility.

David Rudy Cipko, 36, of 175 Penn St., who was found guilty of two counts of simple assault and one count of recklessly endangering another person, was sentenced by Judge James P. Goodman.On one of the simple assault accounts he was sentenced to serve 12 to 24 months in a state correctional facility and was given credit for time served in the county prison from Aug. 16, 2012, to the present. The second count of simple assault merged and on the charge of recklessly endangering another person he was given a concurrent sentence. Cipko was cited by Tamaqua Patrolman Karl Harig.Samuel Thomas Steffie, 41, of Schuylkill Haven, who was found guilty by a jury of theft of veterans grave markers removed from a cemetery was sentenced by Judge Charles M. Miller to serve 16 to 32 months in a state correctional institution and must make restitution of $524 to the Schuylkill County Veterans Department. Steffie was cited by Trooper Bernard S. He was stopped on SR443 at the intersection to Blue Mountain Area High School in North Manheim Township.Braxton J. Moore, 30, of 135 Coal St., Apt. C, Cumbola, Blythe Township, failed to appear in court for his hearing and the court dismissed the appeal and ordered the sentence imposed by the district judge to stand.Moore was sentenced to serve 90 days in the county prison and ordered to report to the prison on Saturday, April 20, at 9 a.m. He was cited by Minersville Patrolman Jason Alan Klouser, of driving while his license was suspended-DUI related. He also must pay a fine of $500 and costs.Trista Marie Lecher, South Street, Minersville, withdrew her appeal and entered a guilty plea to a charge of disorderly conduct and the court ordered payment of $200 in fine and costs.
