State police at the Frackville barracks are investigating a hit-and-run accident that happened at 6:45 a.m. March 15 in the Village of Sheppton, East Union Township.

Police said a smaller compact car, maroon in color, attempted to pass a 1994 International 4900 home heating oil delivery truck operated by Joe Gallagher of Ringtown and in doing so collided with the driver's side bumper of the truck while on Route 924, near Brandon Street, in Sheppton.Gallagher was uninjured.
