A Breinigsville man was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 5:05 p.m. March 17 on State Route 863 (Independent Road) in Weisenberg Township, Lehigh County.

State police at the Fogelsville barracks said Geno J. Nardini, 39, was transported by the Cetronia 61 EMS to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. The severity of his injuries was unknown at the time, police said.Police said he was driving a 2000 GMC Jimmy southbound on Route 863 and was attempting to negotiate a left curve when the vehicle left its lane of travel and entered the right berm. Police said Nardini attempted to correct his movement when his vehicle struck a 2003 Dodge Ram truck that was parked on the right shoulder of the roadway.The Jimmy returned to the roadway, crossed both lanes of travel and struck a dirt embankment off the left shoulder of the road, overturning and coming to rest on its passenger's side facing southwest in the northbound lane.Police said Nardini needed to be freed from the wreckage by mechanical means. He will be cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.The Jimmy required towing from the scene.
