Golden Agers

The next scheduled meeting of the Panther Valley Golden Agers is Monday, Feb. 25 at 1 p.m. at St John's Slovak Lutheran Church Social Hall in Lansford, weather permitting. Members are asked to wear something red to remember Valentine's Day. Bingo is scheduled to be played.Meetings are held every second and fourth Monday of the month.NesquehoningWoman's clubRepresentatives of the Nesquehoning Woman's Club have been contacting members to see if they will be attending the March 4 dinner meeting at MapleShade.The club will be collecting money from each one attending to pay for a flower and Easter treats for the residents. Money can be paid to Nancy Kevilly.The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. with dinner served at 7 p.m. There will be entertainment.Zion midweek Lenten serviceA midweek Lenten service will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at Zion Lutheran Church, 2 E. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning. A soup and sandwich meal will be served at 6 p.m. in the social room with worship beginning at 7 p.m. All visitors are welcome.Vicar Ben Siebert will preside.Easter egg huntAn Easter egg hunt will be held on Saturday, March 23 at 2:00 p.m at the Nesquehoning Recreation Center. Children must be residents of Nesquehoning and be 10 years old or younger.LansfordBaseball sign-upsLansford Baseball Association will be holding sign-ups for T-Ball, Little League and Babe Ruth for players age 5-15 and girls softball for players ages 8-14. Babe Ruth players ages 13-15 from Tamaqua Area are eligible to sign up. Dates are Feb 26, 27, and 28 at the Lansford Legion from 6-8 p.m. Registration fees and fundraisers are payable at this time.
