CBA installs 2013 officers and board members at Penn's Peak

Installation of 2013 officers of the Carbon Builders Association was held Tuesday at Penn's Peak, Jim Thorpe.

Officers for 2013 are Mike Troutman, president, of T&T Contracting; and Steve Ohl, vice president; of R.F. Ohl. Board members also were installed for a one-year term, Tom Schmidt, of George T. Schmidt, Inc.; Ben Powell, Next Generation Homes; and Ron Keblish, Sergeants 3 Home Improvements.Larry Oberly, president of the Pennsylvania Builders Association, was installing officer.Eberty spoke briefly to CBA members about membership and the future of building. He noted that he always believes that things will get better."Look at what we have accomplished, but it still takes members," said Eberly. "Don't let anyone tell you that membership is not important. We've had a lot of changes and we have had to adapt to a new normal. We've got to live with the changes."Troutman noted that the Carbon Builders Association has a busy schedule ahead this year."We have the 2013 Carbon County Home, Garden and Business Expo coming up on April 27 and April 28.The Carbon County Home, Garden and Business Expo will be held from 10 a.m. to 8 ap.m. on Saturday, April 27; and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 28 at Blue Mountain Ski Area. The Carbon County Home, Garden and Business Expo is a collaborate effort of the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce and The Carbon Builders Association.He also noted that a Longaberger Basket Bingo, featuring Longaberger baskets, pottery and wrought iron, will be held Saturday, April 6, at Mahoning Valley Ambulance Corp.
