Schuylkill County District Attorney Karen Byrnes-Noon on Friday announced a drug sweep in that county resulted in arrest warrants being served on 13 street level drug dealers.

The sweep took place Friday from 6 a.m. through the afternoon by detectives from the district attorney's office and its Drug Task Force, assisted by the county sheriff and adult probation offices and members of the Orwigsburg, Schuylkill Haven, Port Carbon, West Mahanoy Township, Shenandoah and Ashland police departments.Felony warrants were issued and the following drug dealers were arrested and arraigned before magisterial district judges Anthony J. Kilker and David A. Plachko:Matthew Bahrey, McAdoo - delivery of heroin, $75,000 percentage bail.Alicia Carr, Ashland - delivery of hydrocodone and acetaminophen propoxyphene, $15,000 percentage bail.Jennifer Clark, Shenandoah - delivery of heroin, $35,000 percentage bail.Matthew Dewald, Pottsville - delivery of methamphetamine, two cases, $100,000 percentage bail.Bryon Dufour, New Philadelphia - delivery of marijuana, two cases, $50,000 percentage bail on each case.Dallas Elsdon, Cressona - delivery of oxycodone, $25,000 percentage bail.Francis Guida, Shenandoah - delivery of heroin, $35,000 percentage bail.Raymond Jordan, Shenandoah - delivery of Vicodin and methamphetamine, two cases, $50,000 percentage bail.Zachary Kimmel, Orwigsburg - delivery of marijuana, $25,000 percentage bail.Amber Murphy, Shenandoah - delivery of heroin and cocaine, two cases, $60,000 percentage bail.Zachary Shaw, Auburn - delivery of heroin, $75,000 percentage bail.Jacob Shuey, Ashland - delivery of marijuana, $15,000 percentage bail.Tristin Weyman, Hegins - delivery of dilaudid, $10,000 percentage bail.Based on the arrest warrants for violations of the Controlled, Substance, Drug, Device and Cosmetic Act, all of the defendants were arraigned and committed to the Schuylkill County Prison, Pottsville, Byrnes-Noon said.She said the arrests were the result of investigations conducted by the Drug Task Force, which she indicated is the district attorney's continued effort to keep drug dealers off the street."We will continue to pursue drug dealers wherever they sell their poisons in our neighborhoods," the DA said.Byrnes-Noon credited the expansion of the Schuylkill County Drug Task Force, a COPS Methamphetamines grant from the U.S. Department of Justice, which pays for police overtime, and the cooperation of local police for the increase in the number of drug arrests being made in the county.She wanted to emphasize what results can be achieved by local police working together with the Drug Task Force to help keep drug dealers off the street.Byrnes-Noon said it is important to keep law enforcement vigilant as the fight against drugs is a constant commitment to helping to make communities safer.The district attorney also thanked the public for its help in the drug investigations, saying many of these investigations started by people calling in tips to the county's Drug Tip Line.
