McAdoo man facing drug counts
A McAdoo man has been cited for several drug related charges following a traffic stop in the borough on March 10.
Patrolman Steven Homanko was on patrol at 9:56 p.m. when he observed an Oldsmobile Alero, with three occupants. The car's plate lights were not functioning and the vehicle was idling after the driver quickly parked. A woman exited a home in the unit block of South Kennedy Drive and entered the Alero. The driver pulled out of the parking space, failing to use a turn signal.
As the patrolman pulled in behind the car, one of the rear seat passengers kept looking back and gesturing wildly. A traffic stop was initiated and the officer observed one of the rear passengers continue to make numerous hurried movements.
A strong odor of marijuana emanated from the car as the officer approached, while the male in the back seat continued to fumble around. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Dillian Jones of James Street, McAdoo. Due to the continued movements of the rear seat passenger, Homanko asked him to exit the car.
The male was identified as Robert Ohazzo, 18, of 106 E. Blaine St., McAdoo. Ohazzo kept placing his hands in his pockets, despite the officer's repeated commands to keep the hands out.
During a pat down search the officer discovered a large amount of marijuana in Ohazzo's right pocket and a digital scale in the left pocket. He was cited for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.
