Schuylkill driver facing charges

A Schuylkill County driver is facing charges following an incident that occurred about 8:25 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 4, along Labenberg Road, and SR339, in North Union Township.

State police at Frackville said troopers attempted to stop Joseph Mulkusky, of Zion Grove, for a traffic violation. He did not stop and troopers activated their siren and emergency lights. Mulkusky traveled southbound on 339 for about a mile before turning onto a private lane. He then stopped his vehicle when it could not make it up a snowy hill.

Mulkusky was found to ve under the influence and was taken into custody. He was transported to a Pottsville hospital for a blood test.

He is facing charges of DUI and fleeing and eluding. The DUI charge is pending the test results.
