Published February 19. 2013 05:01PM

Blue Mountain Health System will offer a Lunch 'N Learn program in recognition of American Heart Month on Thursday, Feb. 28, at 12 p.m. in the community room at the Gnaden Huetten campus, 211 N. 12th St. in Lehighton.

Speaker, Toni Gibson, RN, BSN, MHA, will discuss the symptoms, causes and treatments for heart disease and heart attack risk factors and symptoms so you can take immediate steps to prevent one. If you're trying to eat a heart-healthy diet, figuring out what to believe can be overwhelming.

Nancy Matyas, MS, RD, LDN, will also talk about foods that have gotten the healthy nod because they're labeled as such, but in reality are anything but healthy. Some foods that you think might be good snacks are best left on the store shelf. Learn the truth so you're headed in the right direction.

There is a fee for lunch. Lunch will be spinach/strawberry salad, vegetable bean soup, whole wheat roll, cheesecake parfait and beverages. Pre-registration and Pre-payment are required. Please call (610) 377-7070.
