Treasurer's report

County Treasurer Jacqueline V. McGovern reported the expendiures exceeded the revenue received in November but the endinging balance was still on the plus side. The balance for all accountgs at the beginning of the month was $48,907,895.88, deposits totaled $11,616,442.83, disbursements, $13,872,811.20 and leaving a balance at the end of November at $46,651,527.51. The general fund's beginning balance was $19,180,745.58, deposits, $1,303,576.66, disbursements, $3,468,854.76 and ending balance, $17,015,467.50. Payment of real estate taxes in November totaled $254,800.01 and er capital, $12,104.77. Revenue from sale of licenses by the treasurer were, dog, $119 retained by the county and $1,345 turned over to the state; fishing $1 and $21.70, hunting $201 and $1,552.60; bingo, $665 and small game of chance, $700 both retained by the county. Other revenues, fees collected by the eight magisterial district justice offices, $56,481.tarifif collected on telephones for 9-1-1 was $59,122.23; 9-1-1 Department earnings, $643.54 and hotel tax, $20,202.Sues churchBrian A. and Krista M. Demcher, of 1 33 Whspering Woods, Bel Air, Maryland, filed suit against the Roman Catholic Diocese of Allentown, for alleged injuries the husband suffered in a fall in Saint Matthews Church in Minersville on Dec. 19, 2010. The suit alleges Brian Demcher was coming down the stairs from the choir loft and while carrying his small child was caused to slip on a worn carpeting and caused to fall on the spiral staircase and suffered injuries to the right patellar (bone forming the anterior point of the knee) causing tendon rupture along with a medial meniscus cartilage) tear, He is seeking damages of $75,000 plus punitve damages, interests and costs and his wife is also seeking damage of $75,000 for being consortium of her husband.
