Tamaqua Police are searching for two men in a white van who reportedly attempted to abduct a 9-year-old girl on Friday.

The victim told police she was at the bus stop at Market and Biddle streets when the two men called out to her, saying "Come here sweetheart." The child told her mother of the incident over the weekend, but it wasn't until she displayed fear about going to the bus stop on Monday that the mother contacted police and Tamaqua Area School District personnel.Anyone with information, or who sees a strange white van loitering near a bus stop, is asked to contact police at (570) 668-5000.
