State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks were kept busy Thursday, Dec. 6, investigating three crashes on Schuylkill County roadways. The most serious occurred about 1:53 p.m. along SR61 in Deer Lake borough in which alcohol may have played a role.

Troopers said Tiffany A. Reinhart, 25, of Hamburg, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Malibu southbound near SR895 when the car left the road and entered the shoulder area where it struck the guide rail. After impact Reinhart counter-steered, troopers said, and re-entered the road where she lost control. The car then overturned onto its drivers' side causing the car to strike the guide rail a second time. The car came to rest on its roof in the middle of the southbound lane. Reinhart was injured and taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville. Troopers noted they requested a blood test be performed with a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) pending the test results.A two-vehicle crash occurred about 7:52 a.m. along SR61 in West Brunswick Township. Troopers said Kevin A. Lapine, 57, of Schuylkill Haven, driving a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt, and Eric K. Bowden, 21, of Asheboro, N.C., driving a Chevrolet Silverado truck, were both northbound. Bowden slowed down and Lapine was not able to, and the front of his vehicle hitting the rear bumper of the truck. No one was injured. The Cobalt had to be towed from the scene while the truck sustained minor damages. Troopers cited Lapine for driving a vehicle at an (un) safe speed.Troopers investigated a one-vehicle crash about 4:56 p.m. along Moyers Station Road, in Wayne Township. Troopers said Louise A. Bush, 50, of Schuylkill Haven, was driving a 2007 Ford Edge southbound when a deer entered the road in front of her. She was unable to avoid the deer and struck it. The deer flew up and struck the windshield. Bush was not injured but the vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
