A Carbon County woman admitted in the county court on Tuesday morning her part in breaking into homes with a juvenile, and was sentenced to a county prison term. She was one of 12 defendants in pending cases to enter a guilty plea before Judge Steven R. Serfass.

Mahoning incidents.Holly Marie Koch, 20, of Lehighton, entered guilty pleas in three pending cases against her. She pleaded to one count each of criminal conspiracy to commit-burglary, criminal attempt-trespass, criminal attempt-theft, and corruption of a minor.She was arrested for incidents in Mahoning Township in which she, and a female juvenile, entered homes and removed various items. In one home they caused extensive damages to the interior.Defense Attorney George T. Dydynsky told Serfass Koch had a drug addiction problem and the break-ins occurred to get items to sell for money to buy drugs.Serfass sentenced her to a total prison term of one day less 12 to one day less 24 months in the county prison followed by three and a half years of probation.She was also ordered to make total restitution of $8,000, which is her proportionate share with the juvenile responsible for the rest. The juvenile has already gone through the juvenile court system.She was also ordered to supply a DNA sample and pay the $250 fee, render a total of 200 hours of community service, zero tolerance on drug and alcohol use, and have no contact with any of the victims.She was given credit for 215 days spent in jail to date on the charges.Other pleasThe following defendants also entered guilty pleas.Dennis Gilbert, 29, of White Haven, pleaded to one count of retail theft. He was arrested on Oct. 22, by Mahoning Township police for an incident at the Wal-Mart store in which he took $1,386.93 worth of merchandise, which was recovered. It was noted Gilbert has an extensive prior record and is facing a probation/parole violation proceeding in Bucks County.Serfass sentenced him to serve three to 12 months in prison followed by one year probation. He was also ordered to render 100 hours of community service when released on parole. He was given credit for seven days spent in jail on the charge.Mark S. Gingles, 48, of Hellertown, and formerly of Lehighton, pleaded to one count each of driving under the influence (DUI) and driving while under suspension-DUI related. He was arrested on Oct. 8, 2011, along Bridge St., in Lehighton. Given a test, the result was .15BAC.On the DUI count Serfass sentenced him to serve five days to six months in jail, a fine of $300, one year license suspension, get a drug and alcohol (D&A) evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment, and render 25 hours of community service.On the suspension count he was sentenced to serve 90 days in jail, a fine of $1,000, and another year license suspension. The jail terms run consecutively. He was given credit for 40 days spent to in jail on the charges.Richard Elijah Hartranft Jr., 47, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of persistent disorderly conduct. He was arrested by Lehighton police on Oct. 16 in the area of 136 S. First St., were he was found causing a disturbance.He was sentenced to serve 45 to 90 days in jail, without parole, and given credit for 43 days spent to date in prison.Siobhan T. Carrasso, 51, of Jim Thorpe, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arrested on March 26 in the area of 421 North St. Police were initially called to the area for a domestic incident.She was placed on probation for a year and ordered to get a D&A evaluation, and render 50 hours of community service.Michael C. Gallagher, 29, of Jim Thorpe, pleaded to one count of bad checks. He was arrested by state police at Fern Ridge for an incident in Penn Forest Township with Evelyn Hydock the listed victim.He was placed on probation for 36 months and ordered to render 150 hours of community service.Michael C. McNally, 58, of Stroudsburg, pleaded to one count of persistent disorderly conduct. He was arrested on Dec. 1, 2009, by Kidder Township police for an incident in the area of 163 Moseywood Road. Police responded to a report of a person causing a disturbance which turned out to be McNally. In a plea bargain, drug counts were dropped.Serfass placed him on probation for a year and ordered he get a D&A evaluation, and render 50 hours of community service.Robin Uhler, 52, of Jim Thorpe, pleaded to one count of false reports to law enforcement. She was arrested on Aug. 18 by Mahoning Township police for an incident in the 300 block of Mauch Chunk St.She was placed on probation for a year and ordered to render 50 hours of community service.Rodney Rider, 31, of Jim Thorpe, pleaded to one count each of DUI and possession of a small amount of marijuana. He was arrested on March 4 along SR903 in Penn Forest Township by state police at Lehighton. Given a test, the results showed the presence of a controlled substance.On the DUI count Serfass sentenced him to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, pay a fine of $1,000, one year license suspension, get a D&A evaluation, and render 25 hours of community service. On the possession count he was placed on probation for a month, consecutive to the DUI charge.He will begin the jail term at 9 a.m. on Nov. 30.Michael Andrejco, 27, of Weatherly, pleaded to one count of theft. He was arrested on Jan. 16, 2011, by state police at Hazleton to stealing a television and computer from the home of his father, Michael Andrejco Sr., at 429 Quakake Rd., Packer Township.Serfass sentenced him to time served (128 days) to one day less 24 months in prison, get a D&A evaluation, and render 100 hours community service.Karl Allen Brobst, 30, of New Ringgold, pleaded to one count of DUI. He was arrested on Feb. 11 along Summit Avenue in Lehighton, by state police at Lehighton. Given a test, the result showed the presence of a controlled substance.Serfass sentenced him to serve 90 days to five years in jail, a fine of $1,500, license suspended for 18 months, get a D&A evaluation, and render 150 hours of community service.He will serve the first 30 days in prison, beginning at 9 a.m. on Dec. 15, on alternating weekends, then 60 days in the county's Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP) with electronic monitoring.Dominica Ayala, 48, of Whitehall, during an afternoon session of court, was placed on probation for six months on a charge of DUI. She was arrested on June 12, 2010, along SR1003 in Kidder Township. Given a test, the result was .14BAC.She was also ordered to pay a fine of $300, get a D&A evaluation, and render 25 hours of community service.She previously pleaded guilty to the charge.All defendants must also pay court costs, which average close to $1,000, and pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
