Crashes probed

State police at Lehighton reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers.

A two vehicle crash was reported about 5:50 p.m. on Oct. 25 at the intersection of SR903 and Maury Road, in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County. Troopers said Russell E. Eckhart, 56, of Lehighton, was operating a 2000 Freightliner dump truck southbound on 903 and slowing to attempt a turn onto Maury Road when he struck a 2010 Jeep Liberty operated by Evan M. Levitz, 39, of Jim Thorpe.Levitz sustained a minor injury but did not require immediate medical attention. Eckhart and a passenger with Levitz, Deliah Levitz, of Jim Thorpe, were not injured.Troopers cited Levitz for stop signs and yield signs.A crash occurred about 1:45 p.m. on Nov. 1 along Dorshimer Road, in Polk Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Joseph M. Cook, 21, of Effort, was driving a 1997 Audi A4 westbound when he said he felt his car begin to "shutter". Cook lost control of the car which went onto the berm and struck a small fence post and then got stuck in a stream. Cook was not injured.A rear-end collison occurred about 1:08 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4, on SR248 in Franklin Township. Troopers said a vehicle operated by Scott T. Diehl, of Coopersburg, struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Donald G. Forrer, of Stockertown.
