Carbon driver facing charges

A Carbon County driver is facing charges following an incident in Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said Richard Padora, 28, of E. Railroad St., Nesquehoning, was driving southbound on Interstate 81 in Ryan Township, about 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1, through a construction zone.Padora's vehicle struck several roadway signs as the road tapered to one lane. He entered a closed left lane of travel, continued southbound through the closed lane where there were three workers present actively working in the closed lane.He was stopped and taken into custody after exhibiting signs of intoxication.Padora has been charged with driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol or a controlled substance, obedience to traffic control devices, driving on roadways laned for traffic, duty of driver in construction and maintenance areas or on highway safety corridors, limitations on backing, careless driving, reckless driving, and three counts of recklessly endangering another person.
