One by one, each vehicle that took a spin through came back immaculately clean as part of the Palmerton High School Basketball Team Free Test Drive and Car Wash Event.Without question, the Dodge Booster Club fundraiser hosted earlier this month by the Palmerton High School Basketball Parents' Club paid dividends for the boys and girls teamsDodge made a $20 donation to PHS Basketball Parents' Club for each person who took a short test drive at the event, held at the Leon George Bus Company in Palmerton.Rentschler Chrysler Jeep Dodge had the new Dodge Durango, Journey and Grand Caravan at the event for participants to inspect and drive, while dealership personnel volunteered their time to assist with the fundraising drive.Recently, Rentschler Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge-Ram, of Slatington, presented a check in the amount of $2,300 to Jim Nemeth, president of the PHS Basketball Parents' Club.Nemeth said the organization was grateful for the donation, which will be split up between the boys and girls basketball teams."This is awesome for three hours of work," Nemeth said. "We can't thank them enough."John Kleintop, general manager, said the program represents an opportunity for potential customers to meet the product, introduce it to them, and hopefully pique their interest."We try to keep our dollars local; that will benefit these kids, because they are our future customers," Kleintop said. "As long as it's out there, we'll continue to participate."Since 1993, Dodge has helped raise an estimated $4 million for local schools with test drive programs like the Dodge Booster Club Fundraiser.
